Prof. Oh Byungkeun

韩国设计科学学会副会长,延世大学教授 / Vice President for Korea Society of Design Science, Professor of Yonsei University, South Korea

OH Byungkeun is professor of Division of Design & Art in Yonsei University of Korea, and Vice president of Korea Society of Design Science. His general interests include: information and media design, methodology of user research, design education, public service design, and design aesthetics. Based on his interests he did Samsung cellphone interface design research for elderly people, research on the design education contents for junior designers with KIDP(Korea Institute of Design Promotion), Visual information system for Seoul, DDP(Dongdaemoon Design Plaza) Wayfinding system with Seoul Design Foundation, and public design planning for Wonju city. He also wrote design books including the textbook of information design, knowledge visualization, lecture on public design, etc. Recently he is doing research on universal information design and experience based-design aesthetics.

OH Byungkeun现任韩国延世大学设计与艺术学部教授,兼任韩国设计科学学会副会长。他的主要研究方向包括信息与媒体设计、用户调研方法、设计教育、公共服务设计、设计美学。他曾为三星手机做过老年用户界面设计、为韩国设计振兴院(KIDP)构建了初级设计师设计教育培训框架,建立了首尔视觉信息系统,与首尔设计基金会合作设计了东大门设计广场(DDP)的导视系统,并为原州市做过公共设计规划。他还撰写了信息设计教材、知识视觉化书籍、做过公共设计讲座。目前正围绕通用化信息设计和基于体验的设计美学展开研究。

Keyshot Title: Needs Analysis of Field Job-oriented Design Competencies
报告题目:现场作业导向设计能力的需求分析

The role of design changes as rapid technological innovations occur. Thus the field- job abilities for designers should be analyzed and established to address such innovations. As the concept of “competency” has been developed to assess personal job abilities, I’ve tried to establish a field-job oriented design competency model and analyze the priority of each competency. In order to cultivate competent designers these demands of competencies from the industry should be reflected in design education.

技术创新正快速涌现,设计的作用也随之发生变化。因此,为应对技术创新,我们有必要分析并培养设计师的现场作业能力。人们发展了“能力(competency)”这一概念,以评估个人的工作能力,从而,我尝试建立了一项以现场作业为导向的设计能力模型,并分析排列了各项能力的优先顺序。为培养出高素质的设计师,我们在开展设计教育时,必须考虑到这些工业界所提出的能力要求。
